In October I am going to take a trip to Istanbul, Turkey. This would be my second time. The previous time was almost 10 years ago, in 2013. Suddenly I found myself sorting pictures from that journey and subsequently decided to share.
Earlier that year I fell in love with street photography (in my case, an analog of course!). The upcoming journey was a good chance for practice.
Before the trip, I bought a new wide-angle lens (better for the street), Olympus Zuiko 35mm, and mounted it with an adapter on my good old Canon EOS 1n. Also, I had a small zone-focus Agfa Optima 1035 sensor with me. So I was prepared to shoot street in Istanbul with all seriousness.
The final results were not super cool, because it was (and still is) only the beginning of my photographical journey. But come on! It was funny - walking on the Istanbul streets with a film camera pretending you are Ara Güler (a great Turkish photographer, by the way, check his Istanbul book).
I've managed to find some interestingnesses in my archive. Bohemian Beyoğlu, filled with graffiti, historical and very autentic Sultanahmet district or Mısır Çarşısı ("Egyptian Bazaar"). Istanbul looks so good on the film, doesn't it?
